Settings Overview
In the Assets module, you can customize settings to match your organization’s specific needs. These settings include Categories, Brands, Vendors, Asset Conditions, and Asset Statuses. Each of these plays a critical role in tailoring the asset management process to be as efficient and organized as possible.
Category
Categories help organize your assets based on types or groups. You can add new categories, edit existing ones, or delete them as your organizational needs change. Categories are essential for classifying assets in a way that makes sense for your company.
Brands
Brands allow you to associate assets with their manufacturers or brand labels. Adding brands to your assets helps in sorting and identifying products by their reputed makers, enhancing the clarity of asset origins and specifications within the organization.
Vendor
Vendor information is crucial for tracking from whom and where assets are purchased. This setting also helps in managing details like warranties and service terms. Keeping accurate vendor records ensures you know where to turn for support, repairs, or new purchases.
Asset Conditions
Asset conditions describe the physical state of an asset, such as Good, Poor, or Damaged. These conditions can be customized to reflect the terminology your organization prefers. Setting clear asset conditions is vital for maintaining the integrity of assets when they are assigned to employees and for understanding the overall quality of your assets over time.
Asset Status
Asset statuses are predefined by our software (Hellohrm) and include:
- Available: The asset is on hand and ready for use or assignment.
- Assigned: The asset is currently in use by an employee.
- Returned: The asset has been returned by the employee and is back in inventory.
- Sent to Fix: The asset is out for repair.
- Sold: The asset has been sold.
- Lost: The asset is lost and no longer available.
- Disposed: The asset is no longer usable and has been disposed of.
These statuses help you track each asset through its lifecycle within your organization, providing clear insights into asset availability, utilization, and disposition.
